What is a Pinterest virtual assistant?

Contents

First of all, let us unpack what a virtual assistant is! Unlike a personal assistant who physically works alongside business owners, CEOs, directors and leaders of industries, a VIRTUAL assistant is a remote executive assistant who provides support who gets paid by “subscription” so to speak.

Similar to how you would pay a lawyer or attorney a retainer, virtual assistants make money largely by charging hourly or selling monthly packages.

So, what exactly is a Pinterest virtual assistant? And why do businesses and bloggers hire a Pinterest VA?

As Pinterest is a search engine that is also a powerful lead generation tool, businesses who would like to outsource managing a Pinterest profile to a Pinterest VA hires one to do so. The reason why Pinterest is useful for businesses is because it helps to drive traffic to online stores, websites and blogs. Ultimately, a Pinterest virtual assistant's goal is to help their clients make more sales by increasing website traffic.

What does a Pinterest virtual assistant actually do?

In a nutshell, a Pinterest virtual assistant helps clients with Pinterest marketing for more sales and website traffic.

Below is a list of all the things Pinterest VA does on a typical work day:

  • Initial Pinterest business account setup
  • Pinterest graphic design/pin design
  • Pinterest strategy consultation
  • Promoted Ads campaign
  • Tailwind Scheduling
  • Setting up Tailwind SmartLoop
  • Joining Group Boards on Pinterest
  • Pinterest Audit
  • SEO-keyword and competitor research

Become a Pinterest VA Today course covers all these topics extensively and even shows you how to package these services into irresistible offers!

How much does a Pinterest virtual assistant make?

A general virtual assistant makes about $10 to $15 an hour depending on his or her experience and skills. However, since a Pinterest virtual assistant is very specialized and in a highly demanding niche, you can expect to make $20 to $35 an hour as a beginner.

In the first few months of making money online as a Pinterest virtual assistant, I was charging $25 to $30 an hour. The most profitable way to make good income as a Pinterest VA is by creating packages. Since there are so many different services you can offer as a Pinterest VA, you can make at least 2 packages with a range of offers, as well as varying degrees of your services.

For example, Package A can have the same offers as Package B but at a much more basic level.

Can you really make money as a Pinterest virtual assistant??

The short answer is definitely YES!

You might be wondering: why do businesses and entrepreneurs hire a Pinterest virtual assistant?

Pinterest marketing yields great result for small businesses, online stores and bloggers. Consider the fact that 50% of all U.S. Millennials use Pinterest every month with 66% of its audience consisting of females from the age of 25-54. This means that being on Pinterest is HUGE for small businesses and brands, with 90% of weekly pinners making purchase decisions on Pinterest.

The complex nature of Pinterest marketing is definitely stressful and time-consuming. Most of the time, my clients just do not have the time to manage their own Pinterest business accounts! From designing new Pinterest graphics, to staying up to date with Pinterest marketing updates, there are various tasks that can be outsourced to a Pinterest virtual assistant.

That being said, you might still be scratching your head wondering what this job entails. I don't blame you because every time I try to explain what it is that I do as a Pinterest virtual assistant, people get confused.

The best remark I've heard so far regarding my job is that of bewilderment. In other words, they say “people pay you to do Pinterest??!”

My answer is, “hell, yes!”

How I Make $3500+ A Month As A Pinterest Virtual Assistant

How and where to learn to become a Pinterest virtual assistant

Trust me, I NEARLY did not become a Pinterest virtual assistant.

Tossing between focusing all my attention on blogging or become a Pinterest virtual assistant, I was convinced by my quick return in investment in this course.

At the time, I invested $297 in the DIY path. I had a $50 discount as I got on the waiting list and had an Early Bird offer.

I was only 2 weeks into the course and decided to market myself. That was when I got a message from a potential client from Instagram and made my very first $75!

In my second month, I made another $100 from my second client. Then, I made $500 from two more new clients. From then on, it just snowballed to an amazing amount of $3500 a month. It's set to increase even more in the next month, and I'm still finding all this incredibly surreal…

What does a day in the life of a Pinterest virtual assistant look like?

So this is what my typical day looks like.

Every morning I wake up naturally, usually without an alarm.

Typically, I start my day at around 9 am. After breakfast, I will plan and batch my client tasks by using my daily and get to work. I typically work between 4-5 hours a day on my clients' Pinterest accounts.

On top of that, I also prepare monthly reports, some basic admin tasks like sending out invoices and once my job is done for the day, I basically get to go out and have some fun!

However, this does vary week to week. Depending on the projects I land, I sometimes do have to work longer hours and within short time frames. Things like Pin Design packages and launching Promoted Ad campaigns for clients do tend to create some inflexibility in my work schedule.

The bottom line is, however you operate your Pinterest VA business is totally up to you!

3 best tips on how to get hired as a Pinterest virtual assistant

One of the biggest struggle when you are a new VA is building your expertise and showcasing your value to potential clients online. From my personal experience, here are a few tips that really helped me in building my Pinterest VA business quickly and successfully.

1. Have a professional looking website and portfolio

When it comes to attracting paying clients, having a professional looking website and portfolio certainly helps! There are a few things you can add to your to-do list before you launch your Pinterest VA business:

  • Register business name for your Pinterest VA business
  • Create a logo or hire someone professional to make one for you
  • Have a “work with me” or services page listing all of your offers as a Pinterest VA
  • Online testimonials of past clients who worked with you
  • Pin Design or past work portfolio

As my business grew rapidly, I wanted to hire a few subcontractor Pinterest VAs to help me with the workload. I generally shortlist Pinterest VAs who have good pin design skills, some basic understanding of keyword research as well as someone who is well versed with Pinterest updates.

2. Decide what your USP is: What makes you special?

As a Pinterest VA, you get to decide what services you would like to offer(and what not to!)

With so many services to offer, you can choose to focus on just pin design, initial Pinterest account setup or monthly maintenance. Providing Pinterest consultation is also another great way to make extra money online on top of monthly maintenance work.

Knowing your Unique Selling Point(USP) early on will definitely help set you apart from the competition.

Not only will that help you in positioning yourself online as a Pinterest VA, you will also be attracting clients who really want to work with you! That is because your ideal clients know what they are looking for, and if you are able to market yourself as someone who is able to help them, you generally will have a leg up your competitors.

3. Customer service: how will you go above and beyond to serve your clients?

In order to make good money online as a Pinterest VA, you NEED to provide excellent customer service to your clients. Your ideal clients are not paying you just to throw some pins into Tailwind and schedule them. They want your expertise, your advice and your insights!

Even today, my clients constantly ask me about my opinion and suggestions all things Pinterest. I always provide them with ideas, tips and inspiration and they definitely appreciate it. So, make sure that you have a PLAN when it comes to how you will provide excellent customer service and know how to execute it consistently.

What tools do I need to run a successful Pinterest VA business?

You will need a good website, preferably a self-hosted website. I use Bluehost for my hosting! It's so affordable and I particularly love their online chat support. Bluehost has many hosting plans, but mine comes with a built-in WordPress site. Think about what business name you would like to have, your target clients and create a logo.

Apart from having a website, it's advisable to be very visible online. Above all, you should create social media accounts, brainstorm on valuable content to post on your Facebook and so on.

In order to run a successful Pinterest VA business, you would need a professional invoicing tool. I use Freshbooks for all invoicing and bookkeeping purposes. It's very easy to use, convenient and super useful.

As I get really busy at times, Freshbooks sends reminders for payments to my clients without me tracking things manually.

Lastly, another great tool that I use everyday is Tailwind.

It's an intricate part of my business that allows me to ENJOY my holidays as well as plan my week ahead of time. Without Tailwind, I would not be able to maintain multiple accounts daily without losing my mind.

How do I sell myself as a Pinterest virtual assistant?

You can start by letting the people closest to you know about your Pinterest virtual assistant services. Optionally, you could also make some business cards and hand them out to friends and family for a start. The next step would be to market yourself online on social media!

A great place to start is marketing your Pinterest virtual assistant services on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest. Letting the world know that you are a Pinterest virtual assistant and the value you offer will definitely help you make money online doing so faster and quicker.
