Hi Chavvi. Please tell us a little bit about yourself.

Hello everyone. My name is Chavvi and I'm from India. I run a blog at http://mrsdaakustudio.com. I also do freelance writing for clients.

In 3 short sentences, tell me briefly about how you make money from home.

I work as a freelance writer for marketing or tech companies across the globe and handle their blog posts.

So far, I have written about things like lead generation, marketing funnel, email marketing and the like.

Besides that, my husband (Amit) and I also make money from our blog. We write about work from home jobs and have monetized the blog using ads, digital products and affiliate marketing.

Please describe your journey towards working at home and making money from home. How did you find out about it?

I was working as an attorney but my office hours were 12+. So, I started looking for others avenues.

After doing some digging online, I chanced upon a few blogger income reports and was completely intrigued. I distinctively remember staying up all night to read more. It was then that I decided I wanted to start a blog and started one.

When my blog failed, I was so overwhelmed and frustrated.

Instead of giving up, I started looking into providing services as a freelancer and found success with writing.

In the first month of writing, I made already made more than $500. From then on. I never looked back or regretted my decision. If you're interested, you can learn more about my experience on my blog.

On another note, I recently launched an ebook on how to pitch clients your freelance writing services where I share all my secrets including the exact pitch that landed me lots of clients!

Mid of last year, my husband Amit convinced me to relaunch a blog.

We did it together this time and it is going great so far. So far, we enjoy sharing everything we have learned along our work at home journey. It is just wonderful!

How much do you make from your online job or business per week?

In a month, we average at $1500-2000 as of now.

My husband and I have started to focus less on freelance writing and more on blogging, so the income is not as high as we want it to be.

If everything goes well, we should reach $3000 a month of blogging income by the end of this year.

How long did it take for you to make this amount?

Freelance writing, within the first month.

I made $500+ in the first month of freelance writing. Amit and I earned our first $100 in the second month of blogging.

I haven't taken any training for freelance writing.

However, I highly recommend Pinterest courses & affiliate marketing courses by Carly from Mom On Purpose when it comes to making money blogging.

Why did you want to make money online and work at home doing what you do now?

Freedom.

I love to travel to different places and be around my family. Both of these were not possible with a traditional 9-5 job. So, working from home and becoming location independent was exactly what I needed.

For someone who wants to work at home and make money online just like you, what advice would you give them?

Understand your strengths and then monetise your skills. Start with offering a service because that is the quickest way to make money online.

What are the top 3 factors that help you succeed in making money online?

I am a self-starter and a hard working person.

There are times when I work more than 12 hours on my online business and I thoroughly enjoy it.

If I set my mind on doing something, then it will happen. I think this quality of mine helped me succeed in making money online.

How did you find clients and build a consistent income stream?

Direct pitching and networking.

I even wrote an ebook on how to pitch clients your freelance writing services. I share all my secrets there!

What are your favorite things about making money online/working at home?

Being free! That is what I love. I can work in PJs, sleep till late in the afternoon, pack my bags even if I have a 15 mins notice and the list goes on.

If you could do this all over again, what things would you do differently?

I would invest in courses and tools right at the start. It is best to learn from others than trying to figure out the entire route all by yourself.
