Unlike most bank-draining habits like smoking, drinking and gambling, your Pinterest habit can proof to be the one tool you can use towards a better financial future. While pinning on Pinterest, I found three ways some people are making a FULL time income using Pinterest.
Yes, I know what you're thinking. I was saying to myself, is that even possible? Really?
Recently, I did make some money using Pinterest. I got my first client for my Pinterest virtual assisting business. What is a virtual assistant you ask? Well, a virtual assistant is essentially your personal assistant who works for you remotely. My virtual assisting services is only focused on Pinterest, as many small business owners, beginner bloggers, freelancers and online sellers do not know how to maximise the potential of their Pinterest accounts.
Okay. So I promised you three awesome ways to make money on Pinterest.
Let's get to it!
#1 Affiliate marketing
Making money on Pinterest is possible via affiliate marketing. There are two ways you can make money doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest. If you don't have a website or blog, you can still make money using these techniques on Pinterest.
a) Pinterest only( No website/blog)
The only FREE e-course out there that explains how to make money doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest is Christina Root's Pinterest affiliate marketing 101.
The blog post I read about how Christina made substantial income just by doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest alone really convinced me. After signing up to Pinterest affiliate marketing 101, I was hooked by the information she provided. I subsequently purchased her Pinning Your Way to Success course.
If Pinning Your Way to Success is a little too pricey for you at the moment( I paid $297 as of June 2018), then her FREE 3 days to a better Pinterest profile e-course will be a great introduction to what Christina offers. Another great way to learn about how to make money doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest within a day is the Make Money in an Hour a Day on Pinterest Masterclass.
The great thing about Christina's Organise Your Biz is that you can get tonnes of free courses! Her Pinterest 101 and Tailwind Mastery courses are all free! To learn about how to optimise your Pinterest business account( if you are a beginner), sign up here. For Tailwind Mastery, you can just sign up here.
If you are looking for an affordable and informative e-course for Pinterest affiliate marketing, then you should sign up here.
As soon as I enrolled in Christina's courses, I quickly saw the value in her free and paid e-courses.The best part is, if you love her products and sign up to be an affiliate, she also sets you up for success via a 5-day email course by showing you how to promote her products.
b) Pinterest + Website/Blog
Although affiliate marketing on Pinterest is profitable, I believe that if you own a website and built trust with your readers over time, it is a much more effective and long-term strategy. If you do not want to invest too much on a self-hosted website or blog just to do affiliate marketing, do not despair! There is another way to make money doing affiliate marketing on Pinterest. This ebook teaches you how to do just that by utilising group boards on Pinterest.
If you are really serious about affiliate marketing, then the best course out there is Michelle's Schroeder-Gardner's Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing. I know, I know. You have probably read and heard about this course from Pinterest, millions of other blog posts and via social media. I was skeptical like you at first. However I purchased her course two weeks ago and I must say, it is a really great course! I am writing up a review of this course as we speak, so stay tuned for that!
Another course I have found to be really helpful when it comes to affiliate marketing is Kayla Aimee's Affiliate Acceleration. Although not very technical and all-encompassing, this course has taught me a lot about how to personalise affiliate marketing. It has also changed my perspective about affiliate marketing being all sales-y and fake. Kayla Aimee's way of doing affiliate marketing actually propelled me to look deeper into the doing affiliate marketing myself.
#2 Pinterest virtual assistant
There is such a thing as a Pinterest VA?! Mm-hmm. You're not the only one who is shocked by this.
In November 2017, I discovered a vast amount of work-at-home possibilities via Proofread Anywhere's Caitlyn Pyle. She hosts the Work-at-Home summit twice a year, and it was during her January 2018's work-at-home summit that I first heard about virtual assisting.
Virtual assistants are essentially virtual secretaries. Their services range from bookkeeping, emailing and making appointment for their clients. I have never entertained the idea of being a virtual assistant. That was until I heard about a course called “Become a Pinterest Virtual Assistant” by Gina Horkey from the Horkey Handbook and Kristina Larsen.
Around the same time as my purchase of Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, BPVA was also on my wish list.
This course is only open for the public for limited periods of time throughout the year. As I was certain that Pinterest virtual assisting is something I would definitely love to do, I purchased BPVA right after purchasing MSOAM. Gina & Kristina's course is also very informative and comprehensive. For anybody who is serious about being a Pinterest VA, I highly recommend this course. It has actually helped me land my first potential client within a week of buying the e-course!

#3 Pinterest account managing
There's more to making money on Pinterest?! Yes, there is another level to making money to help other pin on Pinterest. Becoming a Pinterest account manager is like the next logical step after being a Pinterest virtual assistant. So far, Anna C. Bennett's Become a Pinterest manager is the best one in the market. Most people who have some working knowledge of Pinterest business account and how to optimise SEO will find her course very extensive and difficult to understand. That's because Pinterest managing is a whole lot different to Pinterest virtual assisting.
In Gina and Kristina's Become a Pinterest Virtual Assistant course, they explained the difference between being a Pinterest VA and a Pinterest manager. As a VA, the tasks are more laid out by the client than the VA themselves. That's because the VA's have role that has less autonomy over what can be achieved on Pinterest.
As a Pinterest manager, however, you are essentially managing the entire aspect of a client's Pinterest business account.
Anna Bennett's course is for people who already have a few years of experience as social media marketers, business owners and employees who work in marketing as a social media manager. The best thing about her Become a Pinterest Manager course in my opinion is the one-on-one coaching session with her and the lifetime access to her course. I have not purchased her course, so I do not claim to know everything about it.
Final Thoughts
As you can see, making money on Pinterest and using Pinterest is not only possible, but also quite profitable if done right.
